One of the things I'd wanted to do this year is to learn how to crochet. I'd asked both my mum and mother-in-law in the past to show me how, but since they were so pro and moved so fast I got frustrated and gave up. I knew it would be better to try to work it out on my own and understand it as I did it.
After watching about 10 youtube clips and reading a few different blogs with me trying to follow along but undoing what little I'd done when it didn't look the same, I finally started to understand what I was doing! I was quite proud of myself, and found that I'd start crocheting whenever I had some free time... it's a little addicting.
Whenever I think about wanting to knit or crochet a blanket (something I've wanted to do for a loooong time) I am reminded of the homeless in our cities, and more recently,the Queenslanders who barely survived the floods and the New Zealanders in Christchurch who lost so much in the earthquake. I'm sure there are so many needs. So much to be done. The sad news of Christchurch touched my heart especially because that's where Ads and I honeymooned. It's such a lovely city.

I've never liked crochet stuff too much but these little trinkets you made are adorable :)
